The Washington Scholars Program was developed to provide the benefits of a Washington College education to students who may have not have had the opportunity because of substantial financial need. Washington Scholars receive full tuition and fees, as well as room and board. While relieving financial concerns is a major benefit, the College recognizes that there is more to a transformative college experience than financial resources; hence, Washington Scholars is a program, not merely a scholarship.

The Washington Scholars Program, led by Carese Bates, Director of Intercultural Affairs, provides students with a sense of community as they traverse their four-year journey from Washington College student to esteemed alumni. Intentional programming, cultural excursions, mentorship, and workshops are just a few of the many benefits that Washington Scholars enjoy.

Washington College seeks high-performing students who are passionate about and dedicated to their academic and extracurricular pursuits. Beyond academic achievement, successful applicants will have demonstrated a willingness to continue to grow and to help shape the future of the College into a richer experience for all students.
