What are the O level subjects required in WAEC and NECO to study Education Arts? Referencing the introduction already made above, this is a notice to all aspirants who wish to apply for admission into any of the universities in Nigeria to study Education Arts under the faculty of Education that the list of compulsory subjects as well as optional subjects required in O level result (WAEC and NECO) before applying for admission into Education Arts has been published in this post.

As mentioned above, some of these NECO and WAEC subject requirements are compulsory which means you need to have at least a minimum of Credit passes (C6) in them in your o level result before you can use it to apply for admission to study Education Arts.

Also, keep in mind that some schools may have special subject combination requirements for the subjects that are eligible to be used in JAMB before one can gain admission into Education Arts. Irrespective of the subjects required by each school, English Language and Mathematics are compulsory subjects that you need to pass before you can gain admission to study Education Arts.

O Level (WAEC and NECO) Subject Requirements For Education Arts

The WAEC subjects required to study Education Arts are as follows:

Five SSCE credits in relevant subjects including English Language, Mathematics and subject of specialization.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNIPORT requires for English, French and Theatre Arts options Literature in English. For History PHC does not accepts Government in liue of History.

(ii) UNN requires Five O’ level credit passes to include the subjects to be combined with Education and a credit or its equivalent in English Language at SSCE or its equivalent.
*For Education/English, Credit in English Language and Literature are compulsory
*For Education/History, Government or History is compulsory
*For Education/French – French is compulsory
*For Education/Igbo Linguistics, Igbo is compulsory.
Candidates for Education Music, Ed/Creative Art and Education Fine and Applied Arts must not possess Music, Creative Art or Fine and Applied Arts respectively at O’ level, but are qualified with Five Credits at a sitting or six credits at two sittings which must include English Language.

(iii) UNICAL accepts a pass in Mathematics.

(iv) UDUSOK requires five O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and any other three subjects, two of which must be Arts subjects in not more than two sittings.

As mentioned earlier, the WAEC subject combination and requirements for Education Arts posted above are only eligible if you want to study Education Arts under the faculty of Education.
