Referencing the introduction already made above, this is a notice to all aspirants who wish to apply for admission into any of the universities in Nigeria to study Insurance under the faculty of Administration that the list of compulsory subjects as well as optional subjects required in O level result (WAEC and NECO) before applying for admission into Insurance has been published in this post.
As mentioned above, some of these NECO and WAEC subject requirements are compulsory which means you need to have at least a minimum of Credit passes (C6) in them in your o level result before you can use it to apply for admission to study Insurance.
Also, keep in mind that some schools may have special subject combination requirements for the subjects that are eligible to be used in JAMB before one can gain admission into Insurance. Irrespective of the subjects required by each school, English Language and Mathematics are compulsory subjects that you need to pass before you can gain admission to study Insurance.

The WAEC subjects required to study Insurance are as follows:

Five SSCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any two of Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Government, Geography and Statistics.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i)UNILAG requires five ‘O’ level credits to include English language, Mathematics, Economics and any other Science, Social Science or Arts subject.

(ii) ABU requires five ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language, Economics, Mathematics and any other two (2) Subjects.

(iii) NDU requires five ‘O’ level credit passes in English, Mathematics, Economics, and any two other subjects in not more than two sittings.
