Referencing the introduction already made above, this is a notice to all aspirants who wish to apply for admission into any of the universities in Nigeria to study Sociology and Anthropology under the faculty of Social and Management Sciences that the list of compulsory subjects as well as optional subjects required in O level result (WAEC and NECO) before applying for admission into Sociology and Anthropology has been published in this post.
As mentioned above, some of these NECO and WAEC subject requirements are compulsory which means you need to have at least a minimum of Credit passes (C6) in them in your o level result before you can use it to apply for admission to study Sociology and Anthropology.
Also, keep in mind that some schools may have special subject combination requirements for the subjects that are eligible to be used in JAMB before one can gain admission into Sociology and Anthropology. O Level (WAEC and NECO) Subject Requirements For Sociology and Anthropology
The WAEC subjects required to study Sociology and Anthropology are as follows:
Five SSCE credit passes in Government or History, English Language and three other subjects. At least a pass in Mathematics is required
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) EBSU requires ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, History/Government/Economics one science subject and any Arts or social science subject.
(ii) OAU accepts Five ‘O’ level credit passes to include Mathematics and History or Economics or Geography
(iii) UNIUYO requires at least P.7 in Mathematics
(iv) UNN requires five O’ level credit passes which must include English Language, one Science subject, and at least three (3) Arts or Social Science subjects.
(v) ESUTECH requires a credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Government and any two Arts or Social Science subjects.
(vi) UNIBEN requires five ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics and any two Social Science subjects.
(vii) OAU requires English Language, Mathematics and at least two Social Science and ones Arts subject.
