Referencing the introduction already made above, this is a notice to all aspirants who wish to apply for admission into any of the universities in Nigeria to study Industrial Design under the faculty of Engineering, Environment and Technology that the list of compulsory subjects as well as optional subjects required in O level result (WAEC and NECO) before applying for admission into Industrial Design has been published in this post.
As mentioned above, some of these NECO and WAEC subject requirements are compulsory which means you need to have at least a minimum of Credit passes (C6) in them in your o level result before you can use it to apply for admission to study Industrial Design.
Also, keep in mind that some schools may have special subject combination requirements for the subjects that are eligible to be used in JAMB before one can gain admission into Industrial Design. Irrespective of the subjects required by each school, English Language and Mathematics are compulsory subjects that you need to pass before you can gain admission to study Industrial Design.

O Level (WAEC and NECO) Subject Requirements For Industrial Design
The WAEC subjects required to study Industrial Design are as follows:
Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Fine Art, Mathematics, Chemistry. Spinning; Weaving; Surface Design and Printing; Bleaching, Dyeing and Finishing; Ceramics; Graphic Design; Graphic Printing; Decorative Painting, Spray Painting, Lining, Sign and Design, Wall Hanging, Colour Mixing/Matching and Glazing, Building/Engineering Drawing, General Wood Work.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) FUTA requires five credit passes at the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSSCE) or NECO or GCE O’Level or its equivalent in NOT more than two sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, and 2 of the following: Economics, Physics, Technical Drawing, Fine Art and Geography. Credit or Pass in Fine Art will be an additional advantage, while a pass grade in Physics will be acceptable.
(ii) MAUTECH requires Chemistry, Geography, Technical Drawing, Fine Art/Creative Art.
(iii) BAUCHI requires five O’ level credit passes English Language, Mathematics, any two from Fine Arts, Building Construction, Engineering Drawing and one of Chemistry, Physics, Agricultural Science or Geography.
(iv) ABU requires five “O” level credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and any other subject
