Referencing the introduction already made above, this is a notice to all aspirants who wish to apply for admission into any of the universities in Nigeria to study Adult Education under the faculty of Education that the list of compulsory subjects as well as optional subjects required in O level result (WAEC and NECO) before applying for admission into Adult Education has been published in this post.
As mentioned above, some of these NECO and WAEC subject requirements are compulsory which means you need to have at least a minimum of Credit passes (C6) in them in your o level result before you can use it to apply for admission to study Adult Education.
Also, keep in mind that some schools may have special subject combination requirements for the subjects that are eligible to be used in JAMB before one can gain admission into Adult Education. Irrespective of the subjects required by each school, English Language and Mathematics are compulsory subjects that you need to pass before you can gain admission to study Adult Education.

O Level (WAEC and NECO) Subject Requirements For Adult Education
The WAEC subjects required to study Adult Education are as follows:
Five ‘SSCE credits including English and Mathematics or TC II with pass in English and at least 4 other subjects.
Three of Literature in English, History, French, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, CRK, Islamic Studies, Geography/Physics, Economics Government and Mathematics
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) ESUT does not insist on Mathematics.
(ii) UI – requires 5 credits at one sitting to include English Language.
(iii) UNIPORT requires five O’ level credit pass in English Language, the teaching subject and any other three.
(iv) UNILAG requires five ‘O’ level credits in English Language, Mathematics and any two of CRK/IRK, French, Yoruba/Igbo, History/Government, Geography, Economics and French,.
(v) UNICAL requires credit pass in English Language and a pass in Mathematics.
(vi) UNN requires as follows:
(a) Candidates seeking entry into the four-year degree programme must satisfy the minimum University entry requirements which stipulates a minimum of five credit passes at the GCE O’ level or SSCE in English Language and a Science subject in addition to any three other relevant subjects.
(b) Candidates seeking entry into any of the six specialized areas of the combination in the Arts and Social Sciences must meet the University minimum entry requirements in addition to the entry requirements of the department into which they are seeking combination.
